Our staff includes one veterinarian, two licensed veterinary technicians, one veterinary administrative assistant and receptionist. Each team member takes great pride in our hospital standards.
We know that there is a very special bond between pets and their owners. Your dog or cat is a family member and when a family member needs medical attention you want to be confident that they receive treatment from competent, caring and compassionate veterinary professionals. At Countryside Veterinary Hospital we understand that, and we strive to provide this in a pleasant, stress-free environment for you and your pet.
Countryside Veterinary Hospital provides excellent patient care and personalized service. We take the time to develop a bond with clients and their pets. We pride ourselves in being able to make our clients feel they are important to us and not rushed during their visit.
Meet Our Team
Our Doctor
Dr. Thomas Prime
Dr. Prime was born in the Fredericton area. He attended the University of New Brunswick and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Then attended the Atlantic Veterinary College and received a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1997. He furthered his education by completing an internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists just outside of New York City. It was there where he gained extensive training and experience in emergency medicine, critical care, ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology, neurology, internal medicine and orthopedic surgery. He has more than 15 years of experience in orthopedics and works with other veterinary hospitals in New Brunswick on an orthopedic referral basis.
Dr. Prime is married with two stepchildren, two dogs and two cats. He has a very active family life outside of his profession and loves to spend time outdoors in all seasons doing a variety of activities.

Laura
Practice Manager/ Veterinary Assistant
Laura graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at Eastern College in 2018. She grew up on a farm where she found a love for animals big or small. She knew she wanted to pursue a career path with them at a young age. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, sports and skiing. Laura has her
own horse named Dasher and two cats Xeada and Frost.
Katie
Registered Veterinary Technician
Katie graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Seneca College in 2019 and got registered in 2022. She worked with horses at an equine general practice in Ontario for 2.5 years before moving to NB in October last year and starting her career in small animal medicine. She joined us here at Countryside in August of this year and is enjoying the change of pace NB has to offer! In her spare time, Katie enjoys relaxing at home with her 3 cats - Belle, Cheeto and Stella - or riding her horse Rayne on the trails.
Saleena
Veterinary Assistant
Saleena graduated from the veterinary assistant program on an online course at CDI College in January of 2023. Her love for animals started very young and she always knew she would work with animals one day. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her daughter, and her 8 animals and singing karaoke with her family.
