Meet Our Team
Dr. Thomas Prime was born in the Fredericton area. He attended the University of New Brunswick and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Then attended the Atlantic Veterinary College and received a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1997. He furthered his education by completing an internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists just outside of New York City. It was there where he gained extensive training and experience in emergency medicine, critical care, ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology, neurology, internal medicine and orthopedic surgery. He has more than 15 years of experience in orthopedics and works with other veterinary hospitals in New Brunswick on an orthopedic referral basis.
Dr. Prime is married to two stepchildren, two dogs and two cats. He has a very active family life outside of his profession and loves to spend time outdoors in all seasons doing a variety of activities.
Julie VanBuskirk is a Registered Veterinary Technician. She's originally from Moncton and has been in the profession since 2013. Julie enjoys exploring the outdoors with her boxer Ryleigh, but they both equally enjoy snuggling up with their two cats when they're ready to unwind! She also grew up with quarter horses and competed in local reining shows. In her spare time, you can find her crafting and making dog bandanas!
Laura Bell is a Veterinary Assistant. She graduated from the Vet Assistant Program at Eastern College in 2018. She grew up on a farm where she found a love for animals and always knew she would pursue a career path with them. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time skiing or horseback riding, also being with family and friends. She has a 2-year-old dog of her own named “Bentley," who has taught her one dog is enough for now.
